Sanfratello Memorial Ride hits road in Genesee County

Buffalo, NY’s weekend air was alive with the rumble of engines during a heartfelt memorial motorcycle ride honoring local heroes.

Residents, volunteers, and avid riders gathered for an event that’s become emblematic of the city’s deep commitment to supporting first responder fundraisers.

Over 100 motorcycles and several vintage cars lined up early, each participant showing up with a sense of pride and remembrance.

The route, weaving through Western New York, drew onlookers onto sidewalks, waving flags and cheering as the convoy swept past small towns and open fields.

The Genesee County Charity Riders helped organize the ride, with the Alexander Fire Department Rec Hall serving as the launch point for this inspirational journey.

Proceeds and toy donations will fuel local initiatives, including the Sgt. Thomas Sanfratello Scholarship Fund and Shop With a Cop programs, ensuring the spirit of giving stretches well beyond the finish line.

A touching moment unfolded as family members received a commemorative plaque, underscoring the lasting impact of Sgt. Sanfratello's service on the community.

Organizers emphasized the turnout exceeded expectations, thanks in part to an outpouring of support for charity motorcycle events in the region.

Several local businesses contributed raffle baskets stacked high with thoughtfully chosen prizes, and the halls echoed with laughter and stories from longtime riders and new faces alike.

Many remarked on the sense of unity, noting how the ride had grown since last year, with even more motorcycles joining and a steady stream of cash and toy donations pouring in.

Community leaders expressed gratitude, calling the event a reflection of Buffalo’s enduring spirit and unwavering support for those who keep the city safe.

With new businesses opening nearby and neighborhood revitalization efforts ongoing, the energy from events like this seems to seep into every corner of Buffalo.

The success of this memorial motorcycle ride marks a powerful moment for both those who rode in honor and the causes they rallied behind.
