Buffalo, N.Y. — A new Christmas movie, "Christmas at The Starlight," featuring Mario Lopez and Tony Danza, is set to begin filming in Buffalo this June.
Buffalo Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark confirmed that production will commence mid-June, with both Lopez and Danza expected to be present throughout the filming schedule.
Currently, a local scout is identifying potential filming locations, and producers plan to visit next week to finalize specific sites.
As of now, no locations have been confirmed.
According to recent reports, this project marks the first known scripted on-screen collaboration between Lopez and his son, Dominic Lopez.
Local casting has yet to begin, and it's unclear how many extras will be needed.
Clark also mentioned that this film is among several productions preparing to shoot in Western New York this summer, though no additional projects have been announced yet.
"Christmas at The Starlight" follows a family navigating the potential sale of a longstanding local restaurant and gathering place during the holiday season.
The film emphasizes themes of family, tradition, and community as multiple generations come together to reflect on what matters most.
Lopez previously starred in "A Christmas Spark," which was filmed in Buffalo in early 2025. |
