Camp Everything has become a vibrant fixture in Buffalo’s creative arts scene, bringing playful energy and theatrical flair to the city’s cultural pulse.

For several years, this fantastical pink float shimmered through community celebrations, including Buffalo’s beloved Pride Festival, engaging residents with puppets, costumes, and bursts of spectacle.

Now, the project’s journey takes an exciting turn as it finds a permanent home inside the Burchfield Penney Art Center.

Conceived by local artist Adam Weekley, Camp Everything is more than just an installation—it’s an immersive memory palace inspired by 1980s summer camps, retro children’s television, and a spirit of exuberant imagination.

Weekley’s vision fuses nostalgia with fresh creativity, drawing on influences from pop culture icons to the peculiar charm of classic kid shows and campfire tales.

Unlike many exhibitions, this project was custom-built for Buffalo’s celebratory spaces, evolving through performances and collaborations with groups like Torn Space Theater, fabricators, and an ever-growing circle of true believers.

At the Burchfield Penney, elements from the parade float are transformed into a theatrical installation, complete with vivid painted backdrops reminiscent of forest scenes and imaginative sets possible only in a “black box” gallery—turning the museum itself into a stage for magic and reflection.

Newly debuted series such as “Campfire” and “Scavenger Hunt” channel the playful and mysterious storytelling found in childhood summers, inviting everyone to wonder what lies behind the colors and stories on display.

This installation is both joyous and thought-provoking, shielding deeper layers of meaning beneath its bright surface, and offering visitors a space to smile, reminisce, or simply bask in Buffalo’s thriving artistic energy.

With Camp Everything open at the Burchfield Penney Art Center through 2026, Buffalo locals can experience a piece of imaginative theater and communal celebration unlike anything else in the region.
