Western New York entrepreneur Nick Gunner has introduced an innovative culinary tool designed to revolutionize home cooking.
His creation, Recipe Route, is a downloadable service that personalizes meal planning by aligning recipes with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
Users begin by selecting their preferred cuisineâsay, Chineseâon the app.
Recipe Route then generates a recipe utilizing ingredients currently available from nearby farms.
Once a recipe is chosen, users can add the necessary ingredients to their shopping cart, and the items are delivered directly to their doorstep.
This process simplifies meal preparation and supports local agriculture.
Recipe Route offers a straightforward experience:
1. Download the app.
2. Build a recipe.
3. Select your ingredients.
4. Order for home delivery.
The app tailors recipes based on seasonal availability from local farms and allows customization to accommodate dietary restrictions, budget considerations, and serving sizes.
A cart optimizer feature ensures efficient ordering by preventing ingredient overlap.
The aim is to streamline meal planning while bolstering local farming communities.
With expertise in mapping, agriculture, and AI technology, Gunner has developed a solution that enhances the dining experience.
As a PhD student at the Cyber Agricultural Intelligence and Robotics Lab at Cornell Agritech, supported by NASA Acres, he has refined his vision for a hyper-local food marketplace.
Gunner emphasizes, "Recipe Route moves local food from farm to table in the most economical, ecological, and enjoyable way possible."
He adds, "Weâll help you create healthy, easy, and beautiful meals from local ingredients."
