Great News for WNY Golf Fans |
Western New York is set to host the prestigious PGA Championship once again, bringing excitement to golf enthusiasts in the Buffalo and Rochester areas.
The renowned Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford will welcome the championship for the fifth time in May 2035. The club previously hosted the event in 1980, 2003, 2013, and most recently in 2023, when Brooks Koepka clinched his third Wanamaker Trophy with a two-shot victory.
Golf's four major tournaments are held annually, starting in April:
The Masters
PGA Championship
U.S. Open
The Open
During the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill, the course was bustling with fans who enjoyed both the competition and the vibrant atmosphere. Attendees had the option to purchase individual day tickets or passes for the entire tournament. Some visitors opted to stay in nearby accommodations, allowing them to walk to the course daily and fully immerse themselves in the event.
For those planning to attend future tournaments, it's worth noting that the PGA provides shuttle services from designated parking lots to the course, facilitating convenient access for spectators.
Looking ahead, the first major tournament of 2026, The Masters, is scheduled for the second weekend in April.
Reflecting on the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill, the event was a memorable experience for all who attended, with Brooks Koepka emerging victorious. |
