Watson’s Chocolates Marks 80 Years with Heartfelt Memories from Loyal Patrons |
Buffalo's beloved chocolatier celebrates eight decades by honoring customers' cherished stories |
Watson’s Chocolates, a cherished institution in Buffalo, recently celebrated its 80th anniversary by inviting patrons aged 80 and above to share their fondest memories.
In a heartfelt gesture, these longtime customers were offered personalized Valentine’s chocolate hearts in exchange for their stories.
Founded in 1946, Watson’s began as a humble restaurant where the owners sold candy alongside meals.
Over time, it evolved into the beloved chocolatier known today, specializing exclusively in handcrafted confections.
During the anniversary event, patrons recounted tales that spanned generations.
One woman reminisced about carving her name into a booth, only to be caught by the founder's grandmother.
Another gentleman shared how he met his wife at Watson’s, leading to a marriage that lasted decades.
There were stories of proposals, first dates, and family traditions, all centered around the sweet treats that have been a staple in Western New York.
Andrew Beecher, a member of the Watson family, reflected on these narratives, emphasizing that Watson’s has always been more than just a chocolate shop.
“It’s about traditions, celebrations, and sharing something special,” he noted.
“Watson’s is family—not just our family, but the customers and employees who have become like family.”
With eight locations across Western New York, Watson’s continues to honor its legacy by celebrating the customers who have been integral to its success.
As they mark this significant milestone, the chocolatier remains committed to creating sweet memories for generations to come. |
