Neighborhood Health Center of Western New York Expands into North Buffalo

Neighborhood Health Center of Western New York is set to broaden its reach by establishing a new facility in North Buffalo.

 

The organization has acquired property at 2497 Delaware Avenue, near Kenmore Avenue, previously occupied by Focus Urgent Care.

 

This expansion marks the seventh location for Neighborhood Health Center in the region.

 

The new center is slated to open in the spring, aiming to address the healthcare needs of residents lacking a primary care provider.

 

Joanne Haefner, President and CEO of Neighborhood Health Center, emphasized the importance of accessible primary care, stating, "We’ve proven that people have better health outcomes when they get patient-centered primary care and preventative services, and they avoid more costly care choices, such as emergency rooms and hospital stays."

 

In line with the expansion, the organization is actively recruiting staff to support the new facility.

Officials noted that existing Buffalo locations are operating at or near capacity, underscoring the necessity for this new development.

 

Neighborhood Health Center has a longstanding commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered primary healthcare to Western New Yorkers, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

 

Established in 1987, the organization has grown to serve over 29,000 unique patients across multiple sites, including the recently opened Riverway location on Niagara Street.

 

The upcoming North Buffalo facility is part of a broader effort to enhance healthcare accessibility and equity in the region.
