IKEA is coming to WNY!

Exciting news for Western New York residents: IKEA is set to open its first store in the region at the Walden Galleria in early 2027.

 

The renowned Swedish furniture retailer will occupy the 67,000-square-foot lower level of the former Sears and Sears Auto space at the shopping center's north end.

 

Shoppers can anticipate the full IKEA experience, including the signature showroom, marketplace, and the beloved Swedish Bistro.

Stephen Congel, CEO of Pyramid Management Group, expressed enthusiasm about the addition, stating that bringing one of the world's most recognized brands to Western New York is a monumental achievement for the company.

 

This marks IKEA's second location in upstate New York, with the first situated at Destiny USA in Syracuse.

In February 2026, Pyramid Management Group secured new long-term financing for the mall, positioning it for sustained success.

 

Additionally, the shopping center has announced several new openings for 2026, including Taiba Coffee, Perfumania, and Gyuzo Japanese BBQ, further enhancing its appeal as a premier shopping and dining destination.
