Free Ice Skating At Canalside

This week, families in Buffalo have a fantastic opportunity to enjoy free ice skating at Canalside.

From February 17th through the 20th, between 10 a.m. and noon, both admission and skate rentals are complimentary, thanks to sponsorship from Project Play WNY and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.

It's a perfect chance to introduce kids to the joy of skating during their winter break.

Beyond the free sessions, Canalside offers a variety of activities throughout the week.

Regular skating hours are as follows:

Tuesday: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Wednesday: 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Thursday: 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Friday: 1 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Saturday: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Sunday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

For those seeking indoor activities, the Walden Galleria is hosting its Winter Kids Club 2026 series.

This series features free events and activities throughout the week, including a LEGO Mini Set & Build Session on Wednesday, February 18th at 10 a.m., and a Free Movie at Regal Cinemas on Thursday, February 19th at 10 a.m.

Each event requires prior registration, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
