Dough, Drafts, and Daily Pasta: Frankie Primo’s Spins Off an Italian Market |
Forno e Mercato Brings Authentic Italian Flavors to Williamsville |
Forno e Mercato, the latest venture from the team behind Frankie Primo’s +39, has opened its doors on Sheridan Drive in Williamsville.
This Italian café and market offers a delightful array of grab-and-go bites, imported goods, and indulgent boozy lunches.
At the heart of Forno e Mercato is the pinsa, a Roman-style pizza known for its crisp, thin crust and premium toppings like mortadella, spicy sausage, arugula, and burrata.
The pastry selection is equally enticing, featuring traditional Italian Bombolone donuts served warm on Saturdays, and decadent cinnamon rolls topped with caramel mascarpone icing.
Breakfast options include sandwiches and breakfast pinsas, catering to early risers seeking authentic flavors.
The market also boasts a selection of house-made and imported goods, with a unique open factory setup where patrons can watch fresh pasta being extruded before their eyes.
Complementing the culinary offerings, Forno e Mercato holds a beer and wine license, allowing guests to enjoy a glass of +39 branded Italian Pilsner—a collaboration with Community Beer Works—or a curated Italian table wine.
Owner Jay Manno has been developing this concept for over a decade, inspired by Italian cafés like Terroni and Sud Forno in Toronto.
Seizing the opportunity to occupy the former Walter’s Bakery space, Manno blended these inspirations into a 4,000-square-foot venue that encapsulates the essence of Italian culinary culture.
Forno e Mercato is more than just a place to grab a unique pizza or fresh pasta; it’s a destination for everyday indulgence, bringing a slice of Italy to Williamsville.
Operating hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For those seeking authentic Italian flavors and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Forno e Mercato is a must-visit. |
