Shea's Theater in Buffalo has unveiled its highly anticipated 2026 musical lineup, promising a season rich with diverse and captivating productions. The announcement has generated significant excitement among theater enthusiasts in Western New York.
The season kicks off in September with the Tony and Grammy Award-winning "Buena Vista Social Club," a vibrant musical journey into Havana's rich musical heritage. In October, audiences can look forward to "Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen," an autobiographical piece inspired by the renowned artist's life and music. November brings a fresh adaptation of "The Great Gatsby," blending F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic narrative with a contemporary rock score. December will feature the timeless favorite "The Sound of Music," offering a nostalgic experience for all ages. In February 2027, the high-energy comedy "Death Becomes Her" takes the stage, followed by the magical "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" in March and April. The season concludes in June 2027 with the Tony Award-winning "Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical."
Notably, both "Buena Vista Social Club" and "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will commence their national tours at Shea's, underscoring the theater's pivotal role in the Broadway circuit. Each production will spend nearly a month in Buffalo, engaging with the local workforce and contributing to the city's vibrant arts scene.
