Buffalo Zoo going prehistoric with new 'Destination Dinosaur' exhibition

“We’re thrilled to be able to share this unforgettable, prehistoric journey with our community."

The Buffalo Zoo is set to transport visitors back in time with its latest attraction, "Destination Dinosaur," opening May 2 and running through October 31. This immersive exhibit promises an up-close encounter with some of history's most formidable creatures.

"Destination Dinosaur" features over 16 life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs, including the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex, the powerful Triceratops, and the fierce Giganotosaurus. These colossal figures will move and roar, creating a dynamic prehistoric landscape for guests to explore.

Buffalo Zoo President and CEO Lisa Smith expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "We're thrilled to be able to share this unforgettable, prehistoric journey with our community." She emphasized that the exhibit is designed to spark curiosity and inspire imagination among visitors of all ages.

In addition to the animatronic displays, the exhibit offers interactive experiences such as a fossil excavation pit and themed photo stations. Dinosaur-themed presentations at the Zoo's "Center Stage" will further enhance the educational aspect of the visit.

For those seeking an enhanced experience, the "Destination Dinosaur Ultimate Ride Pass" is available for $20. This pass includes unlimited carousel and train rides, as well as access to the "Dinosaur Evolution Virtual Reality" ride. Additionally, the "Prehistoric Party Place," presented by Wegmans, offers a unique venue for private events and birthday parties, surrounded by life-size dinosaur skeletons and interactive fossil elements.

The "Destination Dinosaur" trail is included with standard general admission and is free for Zoo members. The Buffalo Zoo operates daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last admission at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the front entrance gate.

Founded in 1875, the Buffalo Zoo is the third-oldest zoo in the United States, attracting nearly 400,000 visitors annually. Located on 23.5 acres of Frederick Law Olmsted's Delaware Park, the Zoo offers interactive and educational experiences year-round, featuring a diverse collection of wild and exotic animals and over 320 different species of plants.
