Proceeds to Benefit Western New York LGBTQIA+ Organizations |
The Buffalo Sabres celebrated their sixth annual Pride Night on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at KeyBank Center, facing off against the Vancouver Canucks.
A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of special practice jerseys crafted by Western New York artist and professor Adam Weekley. These unique jerseys are now available for auction until Sunday, January 11, with all proceeds supporting local LGBTQIA+ organizations, including GLYS of WNY, Niagara Pride, Pride Center of WNY, and Upstate NY Black & Latino Pride.
Weekley expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "It wasn't an opportunity I saw coming my way, but I jumped at it. The fact that the Sabres are putting time, money, and energy into making these things happen means a lot."
During the Pride Night game, Rochester Americans Captain Zach Metsa achieved a milestone by scoring his first NHL goal, which also secured the game-winning point for the Sabres.
Looking ahead, the Sabres are set to host the Florida Panthers on Monday, January 12, 2026, at KeyBank Center.
For fans interested in supporting the cause, the auction for the Pride specialty jerseys remains open until Sunday, January 11. Bids can be placed through the Sabres' official channels. |
