Buffalo Music Hall of Fame inductee Clint Holmes returning to WNY for homecoming & 80th birthday celebration performance

Clint Holmes, a celebrated member of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, is set to return to Western New York for a special performance marking his 80th birthday.

 

The event, titled "In Joy: A Birthday Homecoming Concert," will take place at the historic West Herr Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda on Sunday, May 17, at 3 p.m.

 

Tickets are available for purchase through the Riviera Theatre's box office.

 

Born in Bournemouth, England, and raised in Farnham, New York, Holmes has built a remarkable career spanning music, television, and live entertainment.

 

He is best known for his 1973 hit "Playground in My Mind" and his dynamic performances in Las Vegas, where he has maintained a successful residency for over 26 years.

 

Attendees can expect an afternoon filled with music that has shaped Holmes' storied career, including songs by James Taylor, Lennon & McCartney, and Stevie Wonder, as well as standards from Sinatra and Bennett.

 

Holmes will also share original compositions that reflect his unique family heritage, being the son of a white British opera singer and a Black American jazz musician.

 

This concert is not only a celebration of Holmes' milestone birthday but also a homecoming to the community that played a significant role in his early life.
