The Buffalo Bills are set to host the 2026 High School Girls Flag Football Kickoff from Friday, March 27, to Sunday, March 29, at their indoor training facility in Orchard Park, NY.

This event will bring together over 70 teams from the Buffalo and Rochester areas, marking the largest kickoff since the event's inception in 2022.

Participants will engage in preseason scrimmages, capture moments at media day setups, and interact with local media outlets.

The growth of girls' flag football in Western New York has been remarkable.

In 2022, 20 teams participated; now, 91 teams from Sections VI, V, and III are involved.

Since becoming a New York State-sanctioned sport in 2023, three of the five state champions have hailed from Western New York.

The Bills are in their second year of a three-year pilot initiative supporting Modified (Middle School) Girls Flag Football, providing grants and equipment to 32 schools this year.

With flag football added to the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women program in 2026 and its upcoming inclusion in the 2028 Olympics, the sport is poised for continued growth.
