Team and Celebrities Collaborate to Pack 600 Holiday Meal Totes for Western New York Families |
Buffalo Bills staff joined forces with Hallmark actors on Monday to assemble 600 Thanksgiving meal totes, continuing the team's annual commitment to combating food insecurity in Western New York.
Actors Matthew Daddario and Holland Roden, stars of the upcoming Hallmark movie "Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story," participated in the event, helping to pack holiday meal packages for families facing hardship.
"Being here and contributing to the community, especially alongside the Bills, is truly rewarding," Daddario remarked. "The collaboration between FeedMore WNY and the Bills is commendable, and we appreciate the efforts that make this possible, ensuring families receive these meals."
Inside the FeedMore WNY warehouse, volunteers prepared 600 meal totes containing turkeys, pies, and all the traditional fixings. Catherine Shick of FeedMore WNY emphasized the significance of this initiative.
"These holiday totes provide everything needed for a wonderful meal, allowing families experiencing food insecurity to gather, create memories, and enjoy the holiday without added stress," she stated.
FeedMore WNY's Thanksgiving Blitz aims to deliver over 5,000 meals to families across the region. Shick highlighted the importance of community partnerships in meeting the increased demand for food assistance.
"We're thrilled to have such dedicated partners volunteering today, ensuring these totes are ready for distribution to our neighbors in need," she added.
Reflecting on the experience, Roden expressed admiration for the Bills' community involvement.
"The Buffalo Bills are incredibly charitable and one of the nicest organizations we've encountered," she said. "The Hallmark team is deeply impressed, and we've all become Bills fans as a result."
"Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story" is set to premiere this Saturday, November 22, on the Hallmark Channel. |
