Buffalo's Beloved Groundhog Maintains 100% Accuracy Amid Festive Community Event |
Buffalo's cherished groundhog, Buffalo Bert, has once again predicted six more weeks of winter during the 13th annual Buffalo Groundhog Day celebration.
Despite hopes for an early spring, Bert's forecast mirrored last year's, maintaining his reputed 100% accuracy rate.
The event, held at The Banshee Irish Pub on Franklin Street, transformed the venue into a vibrant winter festival.
Attendees enjoyed two floors of live music, animal exhibits, and interactive experiences.
Admission included access to all entertainment and a drink token, with proceeds benefiting local animal charities such as the Hawk Creek Wildlife Center and the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter.
Organizers emphasized the event's broader mission, stating, "This celebration has always been about more than predicting the weather."
To date, the organization has donated over $70,000 to local animal charities, underscoring their commitment to wildlife conservation and animal welfare in Western New York.
As Buffalo residents brace for continued winter conditions, the community's spirit remains warm, bolstered by events that support and celebrate local causes.
For those seeking more information or wishing to contribute to the benefiting charities, details are available through local community channels. |
