Baskin honors Buffalo entrepreneurs during Small Business Month

From a wellness-focused experience to a neighborhood gathering spot, these entrepreneurs are being honored during Small Business Month.

New York State Senator April Baskin recently honored local entrepreneurs in Buffalo to celebrate Small Business Month.

The event highlighted two newly opened businesses, both owned by Black women, that aim to strengthen the community and promote wellness.

So Anxious Rage & Paint, located on Rhode Island Street, offers a unique, wellness-focused experience designed to promote mental health awareness by providing customers with an outlet for stress and emotional expression.

Buffalo Kitchen Club, situated in the Elmwood Village, serves as a community-focused restaurant and gathering space, contributing to the vibrancy of the neighborhood.

Both businesses received certificates of recognition for their contributions and impact on the Western New York community.

Local leaders emphasize that these ventures reflect a passion to improve Buffalo, aligning with broader efforts during Small Business Month to spotlight entrepreneurs and support economic growth at the local level.

In related news, the Black Chamber of Commerce of Western New York continues to promote the economic empowerment of the Black community by supporting the development and growth of Black-owned businesses through various programs and initiatives.

Additionally, the recent expansion of the Buffalo Purchasing Initiative has opened new opportunities for small businesses in the region, aiming to strengthen inclusive workplace practices and increase support for local entrepreneurs.

These efforts collectively contribute to a more vibrant and inclusive economic landscape in Buffalo.
