Amazon Opens First Same-Day Delivery Facility in Upstate New York |
New Pembroke Center Enhances Delivery Speeds Across Western New York |
Amazon has inaugurated its first same-day delivery facility in upstate New York, a significant development for Western New York residents.
The 201,000-square-foot center, situated on Vision Parkway in Pembroke, is designed to expedite deliveries for customers in Buffalo, Rochester, and surrounding counties, including Erie, Niagara, Genesee, Monroe, Livingston, Wyoming, Orleans, and Ontario.
This facility integrates fulfillment, sorting, and delivery processes under one roof, streamlining operations and reducing delivery times.
Amazon's economic development lead for New York, Glendowlyn Thames, emphasized the company's dedication to the region, stating, "This investment in Western New York demonstrates Amazon's commitment to creating quality jobs across the region, while providing faster and more convenient delivery options for our customers."
The Pembroke site is expected to generate over 100 full- and part-time positions, contributing to local employment opportunities.
Pembroke Town Supervisor Thomas C. Schneider Jr. highlighted the facility's strategic location, noting, "The location of this facility in the Town of Pembrokeâs Interchange District shows that decades worth of planning and investment is now paying off."
This launch aligns with Amazon's broader initiative to expand same-day and next-day delivery services to over 4,000 smaller cities, towns, and rural communities by the end of 2025, aiming to enhance customer convenience nationwide.
As the holiday season approaches, the new facility is poised to meet increased demand, ensuring timely deliveries for Western New York residents. |
