Buffalo’s waterfront will trade some of its usual autumn quiet for apple flavors when the cider festival returns Saturday, October 3, 2026.

The seventh annual event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at Sully’s Harbor Bar on Harbor Walk at Erie Basin Marina.

After previous years at The Terrace in Delaware Park, the move gives the gathering a different backdrop for an afternoon outside.

That change of scenery could be part of the appeal for Buffalo residents looking for one more waterfront outing before colder weather settles in.

For adults, the main draw is hard cider tasting, with a planned lineup spanning familiar producers and regional names.

Black Bird Cider Works, Hamburg Brewing Company, 1911 Established and Cider Creek are among those listed for the event.

Down East, Blake’s Hard Cider Co., Bombshell Hard Cider, Bold Rock and Southern Tier Brewing Company round out the announced selection, which may change.

Local cideries, including Smith’s Orchard, are also expected to offer tastings.

The range should give curious drinkers a chance to explore craft cider beyond the varieties they already know.

But this is not just a tasting event.

Live music, a clam bake and a chowder bar are planned alongside caramel apples, cider donuts, cider ice cream and cider slushies.

Face painting and children’s activities make room for younger visitors, while craft beer and wine offer adults alternatives to cider.

Erie Basin Marina, at 329 Erie Street, places the festivities along a waterfront many Buffalonians already know as a place to linger.

Early October weather can be unpredictable, so a little preparation may make the afternoon more comfortable.

Families can focus on the food and activities, while adults interested in sampling can decide what they want to try first.

The festival is open to all ages, though alcoholic tastings are intended for adults.

The shift from park to harbor gives this year’s gathering its own character without losing the apple-centered traditions that bring people back.

For Buffalo cider fans, it promises an easygoing way to spend a Saturday afternoon together.
