Western New York Communities Adjust Winter Parking Bans Amid Mild Weather |
Several towns delay enforcement, while others maintain schedules |
In response to unseasonably warm conditions, several Western New York communities are postponing the start of their winter parking bans.
North Tonawanda has rescheduled its overnight parking restrictions to commence at 3 a.m. on December 1, providing residents with additional time before regulations take effect.
Cheektowaga officials announced a delay in their winter parking ban until November 15, emphasizing that enforcement will begin only when significant snowfall occurs.
Tonawanda has also adjusted its schedule, with the parking ban now set to start at 2:01 a.m. on November 15, following a law approved by the town board last year.
Conversely, some municipalities are adhering to their original timelines. Clarence implemented its overnight parking ban on November 1, effective from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m., and will continue through April 30.
Similarly, Orchard Park began its parking restrictions on November 1, with the village enforcing the ban from midnight to 7 a.m., and the town from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.
These seasonal parking bans are crucial for ensuring streets remain clear for snow removal and emergency vehicles during the winter months.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed about local regulations and be prepared to move their vehicles off the streets when snow is forecasted, even in areas where bans have been delayed. |
