Spot Coffee set to open its first gas station café

Spot Coffee has plenty of locations across Western New York, but the local chain says its next shop will be truly unique.

Spot Coffee is set to introduce a groundbreaking addition to its lineup with the opening of its first-ever gas station café.

Scheduled to open on March 12, this new café will be located at 155 Jefferson Avenue in the East Buffalo/Larkinville area, operating within the Sunoco station.

This venture is a collaboration with the family-owned Jefferson Coffee LLP, marking a significant expansion for the local coffee chain.

Anton Ayoub, president and CEO of Spot Coffee, expressed enthusiasm about this innovative move.

He stated that opening their first gas station café is an exciting step forward for Spot, allowing them to bring their premium coffee experience to customers in a more convenient, everyday setting without compromising on quality.

He also highlighted the partnership with the Abuhamra family in introducing this new concept.

This new location will increase the total number of Spot Coffee shops to 15.

While most are situated in Western New York, two are located in Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs, north of Albany.

Spot Coffee has been a staple in the Western New York community since its inception in 1995.

Known for its specialty coffees and welcoming atmosphere, the brand has continually evolved to meet the needs of its patrons.

In recent years, Spot Coffee has expanded its presence in the region.

For instance, a new café was announced in the Village of Hamburg, located at the corner of Buffalo and Main Streets.

Additionally, plans were unveiled for a Spot Coffee in North Tonawanda, set to occupy a 130-year-old building on Webster Street, directly across from the historic Riviera Theatre.

These expansions reflect the brand's commitment to serving diverse communities across the region.

However, the company has also faced challenges.

In August 2025, Spot Coffee announced the permanent closure of its Clarence location on Transit Road.

The decision was attributed to unique challenges related to accessibility and traffic patterns.

Despite this, the company assured that there would be no additional closures at that time.

Spot Coffee's venture into the gas station café model signifies a strategic effort to adapt to changing consumer behaviors and preferences.

By integrating their offerings into a more accessible setting, they aim to cater to customers seeking quality coffee on the go.

As the opening date approaches, the community eagerly anticipates experiencing this new concept firsthand.

With its rich history and dedication to quality, Spot Coffee continues to be a beloved fixture in the Western New York coffee scene.
