Catholic Charities of Buffalo is set to host the People of Hope traveling museum this weekend, offering a unique glimpse into faith-driven community service.
This immersive exhibit will be open on Saturday, May 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the OLV Human Services Campus, located at 790 Ridge Road in Lackawanna.
Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
The People of Hope museum is a nationwide initiative by Catholic Charities USA, designed to highlight the profound impact of neighbors helping neighbors through faith-based service.
Housed in a retrofitted tractor-trailer, the exhibit features over 40 professionally produced video stories from Catholic Charities staff and volunteers across the country, sharing their meaningful encounters with individuals and families in need.
Visitors will also experience interactive elements, including a poverty simulation that offers insight into the challenges faced by those living on the margins.
Additionally, an audio library presents curated segments from notable works on poverty and community action, providing a deeper understanding of social issues.
Attendees are encouraged to share their own stories of hope and service, contributing to a growing tapestry of community narratives.
