This funding aims to provide comprehensive digital literacy and cybersecurity training to students and community members.
Additionally, the grant will support the establishment of a device lending library, the implementation of a refurbished device policy, and extensive staff training programs.
These initiatives are designed to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all residents have the necessary skills to thrive in today's technology-driven world.
In total, the Digital Equity Program Grants will distribute $7,431,884 to various organizations, including:

These targeted investments are part of New York's broader strategy to ensure that communities across every region have the support they need to participate fully in the digital economy.
By expanding digital literacy and strengthening state services, the state aims to create a more inclusive and technologically proficient society.
In Buffalo, this funding complements other recent initiatives aimed at enhancing digital skills.
For instance, Per Scholas, a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing economic mobility through technology training, has launched a new campus in Buffalo.
This expansion provides residents with tuition-free tech training, equipping them with the expertise required to secure high-paying, sustainable careers in the rapidly growing technology industry.
As these programs roll out, they are expected to have a profound impact on the community, providing individuals with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate and succeed in an increasingly digital world. |
