Empowering Over 8,300 Youth with Hands-On Learning and Career Pathways |
Ford's Buffalo Stamping Plant has pledged a significant investment of $150,000 to enhance STEM education and workforce readiness for more than 8,300 young individuals across Western New York.
This funding will establish new STEM & Workforce Labs in seven Boys & Girls Clubs located in Buffalo, Depew-Lancaster, East Aurora, EdenâLake Shore, Elma, Marilla, and Wales, Northtowns, and Orchard Park.
These labs aim to provide direct pathways into high-demand technical and skilled-trade careers.
The initiative is part of the Ford Future Workforce Initiative, designed to connect youth with experiences in robotics, design, engineering, and green technology.
Each club will receive startup funding for equipment and materials, along with regional training coordinated by the Boys & Girls Clubs Collaborative of Western New York.
Tracy Bradshaw, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Boys & Girls Clubs Collaborative of WNY, emphasized the impact of this investment, stating, "This investment isn't just about equipmentâit's about belief."
She added, "Ford is telling our kids that their ideas, their curiosity, and their future matter."
These labs will empower youth to see themselves as designers, builders, problem-solvers, and innovators.
Brian Kendig, Plant Manager at the Ford Buffalo Stamping Plant, highlighted the importance of the partnership, noting, "The future of the auto industry will continue to be shaped by advanced technology, innovation, and a highly skilled workforce."
He continued, "These new labs will empower young people to explore robotics, engineering, and hands-on learningâexperiences that can spark lifelong interests and open pathways to meaningful careers in manufacturing."
The Ford Buffalo Stamping Plant, located in Blasdell, has been a cornerstone of the community for 75 years, producing high-quality metal stampings and sub-assemblies for Ford vehicles across North America.
Spanning over 2 million square feet, the plant plays a vital role in Ford's supply chain, supporting advanced manufacturing and skilled trades in Western New York.
Through this partnership, Ford is reinforcing its commitment to the region by investing in the future workforce and ensuring that local youth have access to high-quality STEM education and career opportunities.
