Buffalo Aims to Set Guinness World Record with Massive Wing-Eating Event |
Community Gathers for 'A Not So Silent Night' to Support Teen Mental Health |
Buffalo is gearing up for an extraordinary event that could etch its name into the Guinness Book of World Records.
On Saturday, December 20th, the city will host an official attempt to set the record for the world's largest chicken wing-eating competition.
This ambitious endeavor is part of the Revelas Family Foundation's annual Christmas fundraiser, 'A Not So Silent Night.'
The event aims to raise funds and awareness for Horizon Health Services' Teen Mental Health Program.
Scheduled from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Buffalo Convention Center, the evening promises a festive atmosphere filled with delicious food, signature drinks, and lively entertainment.
Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy wings from Latina Boulevards, complemented by Picasso's wing sauce and Wingnutz Buffalo blue cheese.
Additional offerings include beef-on-weck sandwiches from Bar Bill Tavern and Tops, fresh vegetables from Wegmans, and pizza from Imperial Pizza.
While registration for the wing-eating competition has closed, community members are encouraged to attend and support the cause.
Tickets are available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the Teen Mental Health Program.
Attendees can look forward to live performances, a DJ, and various activities suitable for all ages.
For those planning to attend, the dress code is casual and sauce-friendly for participants, while spectators are encouraged to wear festive attire.
Parking options include free street parking after 5 PM and nearby paid lots on Mohawk Street.
Buffalo's rich history with chicken wings dates back to 1964, when Teressa Bellissimo of the Anchor Bar created the iconic dish.
Now, the city has the chance to add another feather to its cap by setting a new world record.
Let's come together to break the record, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and make a meaningful impact in Western New York. |
